where have I been?

Well, not blogging much, that's for sure. But all for good reason, I promise. Things are returning back to normal a bit around the shop now that the Great Adirondack trunk show is packed up and sent back. What a job that was, counting and sorting and packing!! But it was a success as usual, thanks Patti!! We received a bunch of new goodies this week, such as Koigu's Kersti, and lots of KPPPM. The colors are super yummy. Erika had the pleasure of unpacking a box of gorgeous Sea Silk from Hand Maiden. The colors are unbelievable. I better get crackin' for Mother's Day with all of these beautiful yarns around me to choose from, I really have no excuse!! Oh yeah and the Cali collection from Namaste is back in town. The bags are in stock once again - YEAH!!

Last Friday, I took Scarlett to Long Island, to my home town to see my family (my grandmother's house). We took a walk by the boats, and I showed her the port where I grew up. A walk down memory lane perhaps. I really miss the feel and smell of the salty air and the sound of seagulls and ships blowing their horns, you take it for granted when you hear it everyday- but thank goodness it never leaves you. I love that summer is coming, because we'll get to visit more often, she really loved it, (and loves her new sea horse necklace)...

New arrivals...

Some fun new reads came in this week,

I love this book!! The short version of the gloves on the cover? Come on, who wouldn't love a pair of those. Oh dear, add to the list...

Okay, every obsessed crocheter just needs a copy of this book. I think I need an entire family of these little friends for my desk, and I'm sure Scarlett wouldn't mind a few of them to play with either. Love the guy with the tan pants and big black ears, he's too cool.

You have to admit, those pillows are pretty cool.... More books, more ideas, and now more projects crowding my thoughts, someone needs to come up a way to insert an extra hour or two into my day just for crafting. Enjoy your sunshiny day!!

Little Juliet...

Last week, Scarlett told me she wanted a yellow sweater, pretty funny I know, my little fashion plate. So, I figured the Juliet would be adorable (and quick). I guestimated that working the pattern, as is, without adjustments would be great on size 7 needles. She picked out Debbie Bliss cashmerino aran in canary yellow (and buttons made by mom of course), and here you have it...

After her bath last night, she put on her jammies and modeled her new sweater. I think it turned out really cute. So, if you need a size 4T-5T, knit the smallest size on the pattern on a size 7 circular with 3 balls of cashmerino aran.

Drapalicious...

I finished my Rickenbacker scarf over the weekend, and I love it. It's so soft and drapalicious. I actually started this scarf with a different yarn last year, oh yeah, with Rowan Damask- and I remember setting it aside because the yarn kept splitting, and it was driving me crazy. Working with the bamboo was wonderful though, it didn't split at all. I have to say, it is one of the nicer bamboos I've worked with so far, I think a summer cami may be in order. I received an amazing shipment of buttons today. Stackable wooden buttons that look like pringles, and these beautiful buttons in an array of colors that have impressions of leaves embossed onto them. My favorite of the bunch are these wopper big buttons that have holes so that you can weave your yarn through in what ever design your heart desires. I'll have to snap some shots of them to share tomorrow.
