Our friend Melissa came by the store to show us the progress she's made on the beautiful tallit (Jewish prayer shawl) she's making for her son's upcoming bar mitzvah. She's using Swan's Island Fingering for the background and Madeline Tosh Silk for the stripes. As soon as this one's done, she has to start another for her second son! It's really a work of art. The pattern was written on the fly by Dori, the talented owner of Wooly Monmouth in Red Bank, NJ. (I have to get down there.) Melissa says that Dori might be making a written pattern available soon. Wouldn't it be great to have a knitting group for people organizing Bar and Bat Mitzvahs?
Thanks bev !!!! Halfway done !!!
