Exclusively Yours

Introducing Stone Soup, lovingly and painstakingly created by Anne Hanson for Bare Naked Wools. It's a blend of 80% heritage wools (rambouillet, lincoln, columbia, churro), 15% alpaca and 5% combination of tencel, bamboo and silk.

Sold exclusively at Trillium Yarns beginning next week.

Anne describes her yarns this way:
Our Bare Naked yarns are as close to the farm as a knitter can get, using fresh fiber produce from regional growers which is then spun into yarn at smaller artisan mills with which Anne has worked over the years. The collection is focused on single-breed pure wool yarns and exotic blends, with colors that range an entire array of natural tones—yarn the way nature made it.

I have only seen swatches and I've yet to see a skein or cast on, but I can tell you, I've never been so excited for a yarn to come into the store!

Join the email list and our Facebook and Ravelry groups and you'll know exactly when it arrives!

    Meet Trillium Yarns' New Associate

Oscar is the newest (and hairiest) addition to the staff at Trillium Yarns. He's a sweet little guy, whose journey started in Tennessee. We don't know much about his first couple of years, but he was eventually rescued by Eleventh Hour and placed at the pet adoption center at the Mount Olive Petsmart, where my daughter and I met him and fell in love.

Having just lost our old girl, Annie, who'd been with us for 14 years, I wasn't ready to give my heart - and everything that goes with it - to another dog, but we couldn't stop thinking about him and his goofy ears. We asked to bring him home for a night to see how he would be with our cats - they thought he might be a little 'enthusiastic' - and he was great.

The next day, he came to work with me so I could see how enthusiastic he'd be around thousands of balls of yarn, and, wouldn't you know it, my friend Kirsten Kapur pulled up at exactly the same time we did. Just the week before, she'd been in the store consoling me over the loss of Annie and advising me not to get another dog right away. We were barely in the door, though, before he won her over.

So he's ours and settling in nicely, except that he tested positive for heartworm at his new dog checkup. He's just begun treatment, which will last for the next 3 months, during which time we have to keep him very still, so I'll be keeping an eye on him at the shop for the next little while. So come on in and say hello!

We also have stocked up on all the Spud and Chloe and Manos Lace and Silk Blend you'll need to make any of these patterns.

    New Classes!

There are still a few spaces left in our upcoming classes:

Japarta Journey by Nimara & Japarta
    Noelle Capelet by Rowan

Tuesdays, January 15, 22, 29 from 1-2:30, it's Nimara and Japarta's top down shawl, Japarta Journey. Take the mystery out of top down shawl construction and learn how to make the shawl your own - if you're a little adventurous.

On Thursdays, January 17, 24, 31 from 11-12:30 and 3-4:30, it's the Noelle Capelet by Rowan in their gorgeous Lima. It's a top-down, in-the-round beauty, with shoulder increases. It's a great next-step project.

For either of these classes, email us at trilliumyarns@verizon.net or call at 973.425.0480 for more information, or come in to sign up.
